Outpatient Care

Most people who seek treatment for an eating disorder will attend an outpatient programme. Outpatient programmes typically offer a range of individual, family and group work that is tailored towards your specific needs. Child and adolescent outpatient programmes have a particular focus on family therapy.

Examples of treatment can include:

  • Regular appointments with your psychiatrist or other doctor to care for your mental and physical health

  • Psychological therapy

  • Family therapy

  • Dietetic counselling

  • Social work interventions for family or work/college issues

  • Occupational therapy to assist in developing your life outside your eating disorder

  • Group therapy programme
