Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder is the classification of eating disorder used when a person's symptoms meet the threshold for a clinical diagnosis of eating disorder, but dont fit with one of the other categories.

For example, someone may have all of the other features of anorexia nervosa, but not be underweight or have lost >20% body weight. Or someone may binge and purge, but not as frequently as for Bulimia Nervosa. 

Clinicians use this category when they believe someone has an eating disorder that is not typical but is significant and requires some form of treatment.
